What is EM?
Effective Microorganisms) EM is an active bacteria combo cultivated from super strong microor-ganisms obtained from the roots of various mangrove trees. They are photosynthetic beneficial bacteria.
EM and their activities
- It promotes affinity between swiftlets, inhibits the growth of pests and other harmful microorganism.
- It turns the air into negative ions.
- It optimizes and energizes cells of the swiftlets which breathe in EM enhanced air.
- It prevents oxidization of bird's nests and detains their whiteness. O It survives in damp air which contains over 70% moisture.
How does EM affect a quality swiftlet house?
- It cleanses a swiftlet house and deodorizes the faeces.
- Its fragrance enhances affinity between swiftlets, boosts their growth, prevents fledglings from fleeing their nests.
- It helps release positive energy from negative ions, provides fresh air for the residing birds.
- It eradicates flea and cockroach eggs in the faeces and other harm-ful microorganisms.
- It eliminates harmful fungi on swiftlet house planks to solve water pollution problems.
Take Note
- Our product is a first generation pure culture. It may be diluted one time or even 10 times. It is best to store a 8-day volume of the prod-uct and wait till it is fully saturated before use. Do not use it after one month.
- Make sure that the water used for diluting the product is free from chlorine or other toxic chemicals.
- 10lt yellow plastic containers are used for our product. Yellow con-tainers have solar heat protection properties to guarantee the life span of the microorganisms.
- If the containers become swollen, open the cap and release the gas which is produced by the microorganisms.
- Solid grains or residues are produced by the microorganisms. It is normal and safe to use.
- Do not recultivate the product as weak and deteriorated microorgan-isms will result and renders it useless.

EM contains 10 genera and 80 species of active microorganisms which include anaerobic and aerobic bacteria. EM's cleansing effectiveness and its ability to induce swiftlets to congregate and live symbiotically is a key technical issue in swiftlet farming.
Active microorganisms in EM have a special energy releasing system. They can survive without any chemical constitution. They dissolve or-ganic matters and turn them into unsweetened sugar, thus neutralizing the toxicity from metabolism waste of other microorganisms. They also inhibit other harmful microorganisms.
Why EM is a must in a swiftlet house?
- It kills fleas in swiftlet faeces, improves the environment and prevents ammonia odor.
- It improves air quality in a swiftlet house and enhances vitality and growth rate of fledglings.
